What will be taught in the Workshop?
The Workshop will include creative inspiration and practical tutorials on all the stitches you need to sew the kit – including the wonderful Bayeux stitch.
This is the stitch used on the famous Bayeux Tapestry. It’s much speedier to do than many other embroidery stitches and is economical with thread too – so is a great one to add to your embroidery repertoire. What’s more it just involves straight stitches… so is accessible to all levels of embroiderer.
Through the day you will practice the stitches and make a start on your embroidery kit.
Is this Embroidery Workshop for you?
The day is aimed at anyone who would like to do embroidery. Instruction will be given so that even if you are a complete beginner you can do it. Inspiration and tips will also be provided for keen embroiderers too for further creativity.
How do I know how to sew my kit?
Tutorials will be given on all aspects of the kit during the workshop. Additionally each kit comes with printed step-by-step an instruction guide booklet so that you can continue to enjoy sewing it in your own time.
In this Embroidery Workshop on Saturday 8th August 2026 we will be focussing on the stitches that were used in the Bayeux Tapestry over 900 years ago.
