How is it possible for a workshop to work for ‘all levels’ – from needlework novices, and rusty needles to keen embroiderers seeking a bit of new inspo?
Luckily the Yelling Tree Press embroidery kits are designed by artist James Tovey to suit those wishing to complete a project with simplicity – or next level delicious creative stitching.

The printed design of each of the embroidery kits gives a firm footing to build one. The palettes of threads he chooses are as though, well, as though an artist has picked them (which of course they have). And the kits come with everything you need to get sewing (apart from scissors, which are provided on the day, and your specs – if you need them for close work).

It’ll be ready at the Open Studio weekend. Drop in and give stitching a go
Plenty of sustenance is provided at Yelling Tree Press workshops … think teas, coffees, biscuits-a-plenty, sandwiches, cake etc to fuel your brain cells for maximum sewing.
Talks and tutorials are woven through the day, with stitch demonstrations – of course – too. This is a day for hands-on sewing.
Last August (2025) saw the first Yelling Tree Press embroidery workshop, at Peterborough Museum. Stitching enthusiasts, beginner and experienced learned or refreshed themselves on a range of 20 embroidery stitches. February 2026 was a workshop focussing on satin stitch (in all its luxurious variety), held in Corby Glen, Lincolnshire.
This summer there are two Yelling Tree Press embroidery dates:
Creative Lincs Open Studio weekend, last weekend in June – free embroidery drop-in, plus sculpture and painting: 7 Moreley’s Lane, Corby Glen, Lincolnshire NG33 4NL. (For details please email yellingtreepress@gmail.com)
Saturday 8th August 2026: a brand new workshop at Peterborough Museum (details soon).
